WREN Hydraulics | Applications of Hydraulic Wrenches in Oilfield Equipment

Time:2026-04-17

On the front lines of oilfield production, bolts on equipment such as oil pipelines, wellhead flanges, and valves are constantly exposed to oil, gas, and humid environments, making them highly susceptible to rusting and seizing.

Recently, a WREN engineer contacted a client at an oilfield. It was learned that some equipment at the site was severely corroded, and bolts were often removed by striking them with a sledgehammer. This traditional method is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive but also prone to damaging the equipment. Therefore, based on the on-site conditions, the WREN engineer brought a LOW series hollow hydraulic wrench and an LP3 series hydraulic wrench with a matching power unit to the client’s site for a trial period.

This LOW series torque wrench features a hollow design that allows it to fit directly over the bolt for greater precision; The entire body features an ultra-slim design, making it ideal for applications with limited space; with six standard models available, it offers an extensive torque range of 232 Nm to 44,593 Nm, covering the torque requirements of most bolts; the accompanying LP3 hydraulic pump has a maximum operating pressure of 70 MPa and can simultaneously power two wrenches. Users can choose a 4-channel synchronous configuration based on their tool requirements, and for applications with higher safety standards, an explosion-proof hydraulic pump is also available.

WREN engineers offer a full range of customized services. Our selection of hydraulic bolt-tightening equipment—including hydraulic wrenches, hydraulic pumps, and tensioners—covers everything from standard to specialized models. All WREN products are guaranteed to be free from manufacturing and material defects. As long as you own the product, we guarantee free repair or replacement for one year after purchase.
